I read the room, set the pace and match the music to what is happening right now. That way your event turns into a night people are still talking about long afterwards.
I prepare every set from scratch. In our first call we go through your favourite songs, your no-gos and the feel you want for the night. From that comes a music concept that suits you and your guests, from the reception through dinner to the party. Open format, from hip-hop and house to disco and funk, plus my own mashups.
A party should feel easy, and that starts with the planning. One conversation, a clear running order, quick replies: we settle everything together. If you like, I'm happy to advise on the schedule, the music and the tech. And on the day itself you can rely on everything being in place.
I bring my own elegant sound and lighting set-up, matched to the room and the occasion and suited to up to 120 guests. For the special moments there are extras: live saxophone, confetti, haze or sparks.
Hi, I'm Tim. I'm grateful that music lets me do my dream job for a living. It gets me every time: I mix in a song at exactly the right moment and suddenly the whole room is singing along.
I was born and raised in Cologne. This is where I bought my first DJ gear at 16, and where I later spent many years as a resident in the city's clubs and bars. That is where I learned what counts: sensing what the night needs, keeping the energy up and getting people onto the dance floor.
I'm curious about people and their stories. Listening matters to me as much as playing, because only once I know what moves someone can I find the music to match.
When I'm not behind the decks, you'll find me on the dance floor, at the piano or on the squash court.

My sound covers a wide range: electronic music of all kinds, pop hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s and 2010s, current chart hits, hip-hop, R&B and whatever is trending right now, combined with creative mashups and remixes, some of them my own productions. From that repertoire we work out your must-haves and no-gos together, so that in the end the sound is exactly right.
Guests are welcome to come to me with requests during the event too. I always make sure a request suits the moment and the mood in the room, but over the course of the evening there is usually a chance to work it in.
If the worst happens and I can't play, I take care of finding a replacement. I can't guarantee it, but I have a wide network of fellow DJs to call on.
That's a shame, but then I'm glad to help you find the right DJ through my network. On the side I also train new DJs, who sometimes come along to events to learn the ropes. That might be an option too.
As early as you can. I recommend 6 to 12 months ahead, especially for dates in the high season between spring and autumn. Short-notice enquiries are still welcome, and there is often a date free.
Of course. Cologne is my home base, but I play all over Germany. Just send me your date and the venue and I'll tell you whether it works.
As a rule I bring my own sound and lighting equipment, suited to rooms with up to 120 guests. That way I don't depend on what the venue has, and the sound is always right.
Since I mostly play private events, that's always a little tricky. Publicly, though, you'll often find me behind the decks at SIXPACK or the IRON Bar in Cologne. I'd call those two places my residency.
